00:00so I'm just heading out this morning to
00:02go pick up the bee yard dad was out
00:06driving around with the tractor checking
00:09pasture fences early this morning
00:12because that's what dads do best as they
00:15get up really early and they go do stuff
00:18so you drove up to one of our pastures
00:22and I check in one of my B yards the B
00:29yard is in a little bit of a low spot it
00:31can't get at it and now with all the
00:33snow and this melt and not only in the
00:37melt but the slow melt everything is
00:39starting to run off the land but the
00:43waterways are plugged full of snow still
00:45so it's backing up water right across
00:48the pasture one of our pastures is right
00:49under water and to move the cattle off
00:53that one shortly but it's creeping up to
00:57one of my B yards so it's going to end
00:59up
01:01the B yard will be under water this
01:04afternoon so we're just heading out with
01:06the B truck and I'm gonna pick the yarn
01:10out but I won't be able to get in there
01:11without getting stuck so dad has the
01:14tractor and he's gonna hopefully not
01:17have to pull me in and pull me out but
01:19if needs be at least you'll be there at
01:21the tractor to help me out what a treat
01:29so we are about to venture in here with
01:34the B truck and the tractor and I'm
01:36gonna pull these colonies out of the
01:39water
01:39pallets have them off the ground these
01:44clusters will be up in the box so there
01:48won't be any losses here it's nothing
01:51like putting a bee yard in the bottom of
01:55a flood plain our pasture extends right
02:03far back this is what our entire pasture
02:05here looks like now the cattle are kind
02:07of marooned on some high ground so they
02:10are gonna be pulled out today but first
02:14my bees

02:25one
02:56[Music]
03:40[Music]
04:00[Music]
04:42nothing is easy you think this would be
04:46the wettest part ooop high ground
04:59get out of here might have to get the
05:00four-wheel drive tractor
05:03[Music]
05:06[Applause]
05:21[Applause]
07:57[Music]
08:40[Music]
09:01I was going to drop him off in another
09:05bee yard but - everything's so bloody
09:08wet and I didn't feel like getting stuck
09:11again so I figured hell we're close
09:13enough to bringing these hives in might
09:15as well just bring them up to the
09:17loading pad here and drop them off and
09:19these will be the first ones in but any
09:21rate these guys are gonna live here I'm
09:23gonna take the pails I took off the yard
09:26because you're still feeding on them and
09:27I'm gonna put them on and just let them
09:29you know maybe redirect their attention
09:31to the syrup and just get settled in the
09:35yard here right that's it for that
09:39little adventure
10:05just a little bit disorientated a little
10:07bit confused
10:16and feeding
10:20so hopefully they can find their place
10:22and get back to their home and just kind
10:27of settle in and maybe take down some
10:29syrup and just pretend none of that
10:34happened
